Happy Holidays..... Wishes?

Dear readers,
I think we spent quite some time together this year. It started of a very sad note,  but thanks to the blogosphere and the power social media we were able to share some ideas, dream and feelings, that helped us go through to a certain extent the challenges that we were facing both personally and collectively.

2010 could be remembered as a year  of instability, weaknesses, disasters, pain, very dark and messy but I choose to to see it instead as an expression of humanity, of hope. Never before in my life i had experience from so close a group of people getting together to defend not only the Haitian cause but the human cause. Never before I personally was so interested into the Haitian and human cause and had the belief that I, us can actually change the world.

I am growing to learn that evolving at personal level means evolving collectively in the proper environment. I believe we can still save the planet, it will only be too late if we keep on saying that it is instead of trying.  We are able to change how the world works, how the world thinks, how the world do for a better distribution of goods and a respect for peoples dream and ideals.

So my wishes to you dear readers for the holiday are the same one that I have for me. I wish you serenity and peace of mind to foresee in the most positive manner the challenges of the year and the years ahead. Keeping in mind that we must be conscious of ourselves as a whole and not different entities. If we want to build this place (note build not rebuild) righteously we must be an unique us not an us and them but  us.  I have a strong belief that a better Haiti would inspire to a better world, I do believe that world change can start there,  hence Haitians, I  included have to  learn to be conscious of themselves as citizen of the world, and not of repressed nation.  We have to stop characterizing ourselves as a victim of the international system and be another kind of example. We have to stop blaming our misery on one person or a specific group of individual. We have to stop blaming our history, we can learn from it but. whatever happened a year, 5, 10,50 or 200 years ago is not the reason our current turmoil.

So this year I encourage all to wish each other a happy year instead of a happy new year,  as has been proven can be as short as 12 days. And that this state of happiness, will not be defined by a passive state of enjoying goods but instead by the active state that comes with the satisfaction of pursuing it. We have to learn to encourage progress, dialogue, and acceptance of the other. As it is a critical time,  one the most important thing we have been lacking for way too long  and that we must learn to do is to trust in our leaders, whom ever they may be. It's a challenge that I am taking and would encourage my family, friends, compatriot and all my fellow world citizen to take.

Have a peaceful holiday  , and happy year!!

Haiti Elections: Political Karma

So It's been 3 days now! Elections were held in Haiti, read all kinds of opinions, some smart others less all emotional. And I came to one simple conclusion, Karma is a bitch.

Anyone remembers when a few months ago, the results for who was to participate in these elections came out? People your memory is short. (Literal translation of memwa'w kout) The CEP/KEP  kept out for some kind of legal reason, the diaspora out of the elections. While, at the same ignoring other laws by accepting the canditature of other candidates. Remember now? yeah you do, a lot of us were thrilled about avoiding Wyclef candidacy claiming that it would be yet another national disaster. But what did the other cadidate do?  well you said it NOTHING!! none. Everyone kept on going about their little campaign aknowledging that most of the candidates issued from the Lavalas party, that were once part of the government did not represent any real threat since the MYTH Aristide comfortably installed in Pretoria did not endorse any of them. Instead everyone focused their attention on pin pointing the threat and weaknesses of the party in power. All focus their fight based on an opinion, instead than on an obvious facts because well it was unpopular. They all accepted the results went on,  sitting on a cloud of dreams believing that the elections would be fair while they obviously had proof that they were not. Yes, they all failed, All 19 of them. They all, by spending their precious time and money in campaigning  for these elections participated and are authors of the scam that they were. In a situation like the one Haiti is facing currently it saddens me to see the lack of conviction from the political class whether old or new. Most of them did not risk failing by supporting an "unpopular" injustice but instead choose to fight when it was convinient.

Whatever the results of sundays elections may or may not be, I hope that all the candidates, all 19 of them will this time stay on the political scene, and start a convincing fight for what they really believe in. .

To my candidates, winner and all 18 losers, I hope that you during the next 5 years your voice will be heard, your action will be felt and that you will put your convinced self into building a better stronger Haiti. You are the elite of the political class. Millions of people are looking towards you for leadership! set the example. And reverse the Karma!

Fake

_dsc0112

Started my day in a very particular way this morning. Yesterday I discovered the "freakonomics podcast" , I am a big fan of the book  although I never actually read the whole thing, I skeemed thru some passages and really enjoyed the critical thinking behind it. I highly recommend both the podcast and the book and looking forward to seeing the documentary.

To comeback to my morning,  I listenned to one the firtst episodes first thing this morning and the subject was about "faking it". You know things we fake in order to survive in society. I always promoted myself  among friends, family, girls as genuine and a "keep it real" kinda nigga, well educated black man, did get my engineering ring last week, Ha ha found a way to announce it to the world !!, clever? non? whatever!,  Yeah so I listened to the podcast, to that jewish bitch, who hides from her step mother that the she is a fanatic of "the bacon", and pratice eating it alongside pancakes from time to time outside of a full kosher kitchen, Or president Obama not having the courage to admit that he did not go to church.  So much bull shit! Our society tends to be govern by some rules and principles that are just freaking stupid. A man cannot govern the United States of america if he doesn't attend church on a regular basis. You know what that means, God has no chance to be president of the US of A. And as much as I was striving to look at the the social aspect of their analysis, self centered bastard that I sometimes am, I started analyzing my own "fakeness". And people it wasn't pretty, the amount of random shit, actions, and desires that crosses my mind by the seconds is just freaking insane. If I acted on  a ti zuit fraction of them I would probably be sitting in prison, or in facility for well "CRAZY" people. Since I tend to enjoy society, I have to fake some shit.  Can't really hit the beggar invading me or randomly hug a teacher that gave a good lecture and frankly is HOT!! It's not proper, it's punishable of social akwardness.

Nevertheless I will still judge and will continue to judge , those farthing round with their bullshit square asses. I mean a certain level of fakery is necessary for the good functioning of our society  but to much is as much politically incorrect, and it just makes me want to hit you very hard.

All to say  that I'll consider my WC as my church, and hope to be a regular!! and maybe just maybe see Chavez admit his sexual attraction to mrs misses Obama or something of that sort.

So people keep  on checking the hidden side of stuff, we never actually know what actions or feelings are being covered or protected.  And Most importantly keep on faking just enough so that it doesn't iritate people  and get you killed. And most importantly allow room so that you can be you true self to a certain extent! Start a blog, join the wrestling team or write  aHip-hop verse!!

His Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

I saw the runaway movie yesterday morning, I was speechless! Talked a bit about and rewatched today. It definetly made me think. Not about life, love or death but instead about creation, imagination, dreams and risk. I' ve spending a lot of times with Hip-hop these days. The beats, the absence of depth was just doing for me it was what I needed, simple easy company.  Recurring subject in all the music I was hearing is how rappers think they are changing the game  by doing well more of the same . Nevertheless with a pinch of creativity. Then Kanye came back, with a sick single "Power" a sick concept, a song each week some very daring spectacles and a movie. This is no game changer, he is just creating a brand new game. The video itself is brillant. It's rich. It classy, tasteful and sexy. I even dreamed at some point. He just put the art back in pop art and as I recalled very few artist did that in history. So I am sorry everyone Kanye just created one of the best fantasies of all time!

The majestic plastic bag

I saw this video this morning, thought it was really well done. we have to be conscious of our environment.

So confuse...

_dsc0029

Maybe it's fall, with its orange leaves holding to the summer sunshine, and its bare naked trees waiting for the winter storms

Maybe its the twenties with the cohabitation of almost and already

Maybe it's the lack of motivation to finish another report after years of study

Maybe its the joys of love and the pain of the separation

Maybe it's the worries and and the excitement

But I am so freakin confuse

Why do adults tell kids? That if they lie they'll go to hell,  or that god with punish them if they do not arrange their room

how about the love and compassion messages of the religions of the world

Why not show them the heavenly beauty that exist in having a peacefully arranged space or the fulfilling power of the truth?

so often we blinded by the fear of hell, that we forget what heaven should be. So many let their fears control their lives, even their faith. Our souls should be liberated and free of all fears and connects with its

heaven. Maybe I am being cheesy like a hollywood ending movie! or maybe i just want to attract heaven on me!! so what the HEAV!! peeps

Movie? Pfffffff

Can t sleep tired of working on some stuff so I turned on the tv and tuned to a movie called "to be fat like me" have no idea what the story is about but it took me exactly 2 min to be uninterested. Why are some movies shot like a bad tv show? shouldn't be the other way around? Maybe I should try sleeping a bit harder . Peace

Danm you futuristic custom made babies you gonna have a fast life. anyways all I can say for now stay away from microwave ovens eat nuts instead of popcorn and keep on growing . Read, think and act...

Have you ever seen an Unicorn, most probably not, but you know what a unicorn looks like. Some kind of elegant hybrid  between a horse and and a rhino that inly lives in little girls imagination right? Well No,  it is also  how  the haitian political scene is right now. A unicorn living in grown man's conscious who like to drink rhum and discuss about who has the biggest balls. We tend to forget took at the big picture. We have to stop seeing haitian politics as a futuristic flying beast but instead as the styracosaurus that it is. Yes I had to make the dinosaur analogy, to train your mind for the newly discovered prehistoric about to take over your virtual world!! So  Watch out people

So what is the big picture at least the one I see? A very sharp 24*36 or better yet fast moving Imax filmed Motion picture, well let's not get ahead of ourselves,  I am sure your opinion will probably brorden my horizons.

So What does being elected as president of Haiti means today?

1- That you, the candidate has at least ask yourself that question

2- That you are conscious that you are a very incompetent politician, that Wyclef Jean gave you a lesson by showing how weak you are, That Rene Preval is the most brillant haitian tactitian of your time and that he is somehow manipulating you. That the only sucessful political family of the las 20 -25 years is not oficially participating, that if you were not part of it at one point, you have at least 5 or six opponnents that were, and frankly Ariistide still have a say.

3- That you might suffer from the injustice, that the elections might not be democratical

4- That you have brillant diplomatic talent or have an eye to recognize and recruit diplomatic talent.

5- That you fully understand corporate politics not only governement politics, as your country is likely to reconstructed by international corporations. Hey the people that gave the money has to get it back with profits, you get that right. Economics

6- That you are familiar to the blodd diamond story and are aware  that  you are a source of wealth, and that your people might suffer from it.

7- that your population is hungry, uneducated  and hopelless

8- That your brothers evolving in the international community are unorganized and feel that the country is only using them for money, that you are not giving them the opportunity to decide.

9- That you know that you are using tent cities without understanding, or pretending not to understand the real dynamics of it as an excuse to attract the attention.

10-And finally that you are crazy, and  that you will need a lot of will and LUCK to make this thing work.

The list is probably longer, I might have failed to see the big picture, arrogant me for thinking so. I forget sometimes that i don't  know sh*t.

So if you plan to vote in the future elections or BELIEVE that Haiti must change, keep on asking yourself what do your rulers really see. What does leadership mean in this very particular situation. Where does your dream stop or start ? what are the real parameters? As were are hopefully part of many different generations (hoping for a wide audience here). We all have our part to do. If you are reading this, you are alive and still have an opportunity to change stuff.

No pics for this post

No song either

So long my friends

and by the way I am just fucking tired of political fan clubs claiming that they are parties. It's simply a shame that as a young citizen, I cannot follow any political movement  because frankly they are about their leaders instead of an ideal.
